In an exciting new chapter of their lives, the Lambie family is diving into the adventure of building their dream home at Seaton. With the perfect location and endless possibilities, Pat and Kate are ready to create something truly special. We had the chance to sit down with them and discuss their vision for their new home, how they plan to make the most of the stunning sea views, and their design goals for this exciting project.
Q: How Would You Describe Your Vision for Your New Home?
Pat: “We’re aiming for the ideal blend of indoor and outdoor living. Picture a spacious garden that leads to the greenbelt and a pool area, topped off with a pitched roof. A cozy, comfortable home is what we’re after.”
Kate: “For me, it’s all about creating an inviting space. I imagine a bright, open, and welcoming home that feels warm and homely the moment you step inside. We want a place where kids and dogs can roam freely—just like they do in our current home. We’re also all about indoor/outdoor living, so we plan to design the house in a way that maximizes the sea views and natural surroundings.”
Q: What’s the Most Important, Non-Negotiable Element for You in This Home?
Pat: “The kitchen is the heart of the home for us. It’s the space where we’ll come together for meals and quality family time. It’s the most important part of the house.”
Kate: “An open-plan living area is essential. We want the kitchen, lounge, and dining areas to flow together seamlessly since this is where we’ll spend the most time. Plus, we love being outdoors, so a spacious garden and pool area are also high on the list.”
Q: What Do You Think Will Be the Most Likely Disagreement in the Design Process?
Pat: (Laughs) “I can already tell it’s going to be tough to get Kate to make decisions and stick to them!”
Kate: “I can already predict some disagreements over the size of the garage and how much cupboard space we need!”
Q: Why Should People Follow Your Home-Building Journey?
Pat: “We plan to keep things real and share every step of the process with our followers. Building a home is a huge project, and it’s not something many people get to witness up close. We’re excited to share our experiences, challenges, and the lessons we learn along the way. With a fantastic team behind us, we’ll make sure to keep our posts engaging and full of helpful insights.”
