Club Med South Africa Beach Resort Development
Progress on Club Med South Africa
The construction of the highly anticipated Club Med South Africa beach resort is progressing steadily, promising an exceptional blend of luxury, adventure, and relaxation. Set along the picturesque North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, near Ballito and Tinley Manor, this resort will feature an upscale hotel, luxury villas, and top-tier conference facilities, offering an all-inclusive experience for both South African and international visitors.
The development is a joint venture between Club Med and the Collins Residential Consortium, a partnership renowned for successful coastal projects like the Zululami Luxury Coastal Estate, Seaton, Lalela Estate, and Mount Edgecombe Retirement Village. The R2 billion project is being backed by South African debt funders and equity partners under Tinley Leisure, emphasising the significant investment in the region.
The Vision Behind Club Med South Africa
The Club Med South Africa project marks an exciting moment for tourism and investment in South Africa. Chris du Toit, the project director, highlighted the collaboration between global standards and local expertise as the key to the resort’s success. “We’re not just building a resort; we’re helping to grow and develop the region through this project,” du Toit said.
A Resort for All: Luxury and Adventure in One Place
Located in a prime position along KwaZulu-Natal’s north coast, the resort will offer a harmonious mix of tranquillity and adventure. The stunning location is surrounded by wildlife reserves, providing a unique backdrop for the resort. Construction began in early 2024, with rapid progress being made thanks to a phased construction approach that allows the different aspects of the resort to progress simultaneously.
Sustainable Resort Development
The Club Med South Africa beach resort is designed with sustainability in mind, adhering to the principles set out by the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA). The project aims to achieve a 4-star GBCSA rating, ensuring the resort operates with minimal environmental impact while offering the highest standards of luxury.
